Ready, reliable and robust – Inmarsat’s most advanced handheld satellite phone offers dependable, high-quality voice calls, text and email messaging outside of cellular and fixed network coverage.
IsatPhone 2 has a rugged handset design, an industry-leading eight hours of talk time and 160 hours on standby. It joins IsatPhone Pro to offer customers a choice of phone depending on their requirements and budget.
IsatPhone 2’s features includes:
Fast registration to the satellite network
Incoming call alerts with the antenna stowed
Assistance button for sending GPS location in an emergency
Tracking capability to show the user’s location on an interactive map.
The robust IsatPhone 2 operates in temperatures ranging from -20° to +55° C, has a humidity tolerance up to 95 per cent, and is dust, splash and shock resistant.
With a toughened Gorilla glass display, the phone has been engineered to provide a combination of thinness, lightness and damage-resistance, and the keypad can be used with gloves on.
“The IsatPhone 2 represents an important step forward in the capability of our satellite phone portfolio,” said Ronald Spithout, President, Inmarsat Enterprise.
“This latest device demonstrates Inmarsat’s commitment to the satphone market and builds upon the remarkable success we have enjoyed already with IsatPhone Pro.”
The new phone operates over the ultra-reliable, globally available Inmarsat-4 constellation, enabling users to stay connected wherever they are in the world.
“IsatPhone 2 is one of a suite of new products and services Inmarsat is launching during the course of 2014, which cover both our new Ka-band generation of high-speed broadband services (Global Xpress) and our award-winning L-band services,” said Ronald Spithout.
